Dr. Christian Schneider, MD PhD, orthopedic surgeon and specialist in sportsmedicine, head of Back Institute and sportsmedicine in SCHÖN KLINIK Munic Harlaching, Medical Expert Committee of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). He holds additional qualifications in sports medicine, physical therapy, chiropractic, naturopathy, and social medicine. He works also as head of Therapy and Training Center at the Schön Klinik in Munich Harlaching. Dr. Schneider is Chairman and board member of several associations and federations, including the German Physicians Association (Verbandsärzte Deutschland e.V.), GOTS (German Society for Orthopedic-Traumatologic Sports Medicine, as well as International Medical Commission Bobsleigh/Skeleton (FIBT, IOC). In addition, he is Chief Physician for the German Bobsleigh, Skeleton and Luge Organization and Head of DOSB-Sports Physiotherapy for the German Oympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). Dr. Schneider works as consultant of the Olympic Base Camp (Olympiastützpunkt) Bavaria and other sports organizations. He was part of the Olympic medical staff in Torino 2006, Vancouver 2010, and London 2012. He also acted as advisor and consultant for several research projects of the Federal Institute of Sport Science (BISp) and of F-MARC (FIFA Medical and Research Center) regarding back pain and conducted a study on back pain for the National Research Network MiSpES also on back pain. Additionally he published several journals and books and is medical advisor to different publishing houses.
