Frank A. Dassler is the eldest son of the third generation succeeding Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, the founders of adidas and Puma. During his law studies at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, he worked in the PR department of Puma, where he extended the research department at the beginning of the 1980s. Between 1985 and 1987, he was president of Puma’s US subsidiary. In 1989, Frank Dassler started his own law firm in Herzogenaurach, which became a consultancy body for internationally operating businesses in the sports, leisure and media sector. During his work as a lawyer, he graduated as “Master in International Commercial Law” at the University of California, Davis. From June 2004 until 2018, he was General Counsel of the adidas Group. In that function Frank Dassler was also in charge of Compliance, Social and Environmental Affairs, Risk Management and Government Relations. From 2010 – 2013 he served as President of FESI (Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry).In January 2014, he was elected President of the Federation of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI). In November 2017 Frank Dassler was re-elected as President of FESI. He is also a Board member of WFSGI and the business association amfori where he is representing the adidas group.
