Karsten Schäfer is a PhD student at the Institute of Sports- and Movement Science of the University of Stuttgart in the Department of Biomechanics and Sport Biology. His field of interest as a degreed engineer and sports scientist is biomechanics. Since 2011 his focus in research is on diagnostics of jumps in single figure skating. For 3 years he is CEO of the startup “Fasttwitch” and together with his team responsible for the design and development of MISSIE3.
