Prof. Dr. med. Hermann was Head of the Department of Sports Medicine at the Faculty of Sport Sciences of the Ruhr University Bochum from 1991 to 2005. His research focuses on sports medical performance diagnostics. The topic of his habilitation thesis is: lactate in performance diagnostics.
