Prof. Dr. Roger Abächerli has graduated as electrical engineer from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). He studied at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GaTech), Atlanta, USA and University College of Dublin (UCD), Ireland and did his PhD at the department of radiology at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Nancy, France. He got several international awards and currently is senior member of the IEEE, fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA), the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the European society of cardiology (ESC). He has worked for 16 years in the medtech industry, latest as global head of biomedical research and signal processing and is now professor at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art for medical technology, senior lecturer at BFH and research associate at the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CRIB) of the University Hospital Basel.
