Prof. Dr. Wilfried Alt is Associate Director of the Institute of Sports- and Movement Science of the University of Stuttgart. He is a Biomechanist and head of the Department of Biomechanics and Sport Biology. He worked many years as a consultant in gymnastics and was involved in the development of measuring and information systems. Since 1993 his focus in research is prevention of overload injuries in high-performance athletes especially over the period of long term training as well as biomechanical analysis of orthopaedic braces and orthoses. For this reason, a close co-operation to the Olympic Training Centre Stuttgart has been established for many years. He is member of the German Society of Biomechanics.
